This photo is of the historical Split Rock. It is located at the intersection of US Route 95 and the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx, NY. Split Rock Golf Course takes its name from that rock. It has been literally a "landmark" for probably millennia. It is reported that Anne Hutchinson was found hiding in the rock in 1643 by the Siwanoy Tribe that inhabited the greater area around Pelham & Westchester.
